Shopping at home best option

By Staff
Jonathan Willis
Like the rest of the country, Franklin County has felt the effects of a struggling economy.
There is no question we have felt it. Jobs are tough to find and some have been lost altogether.
One thing we can all do to help one another is to buy from folks right here in the county when at all possible.
The Franklin County Times is in the midst of an advertising campaign that we hope you all take part in.
It is not one where we are calling folks and trying to sell advertising to them, but rather one in which we are working to promote local shopping for our businesses.
It is important that we all keep in mind our friends, neighbors and fellow business owners through these trying times.
Sometimes we get caught up in thinking we have to leave the county to find goods and services that we need. That is simply not the case.
There is plenty around us so that we should be able to keep our money in Franklin County.
By doing so, we will help our schools, our communities and our families.
Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Cheryl Bradford often says it best, "Shop Franklin County First…….It Matters."
That has never been truer than it is today.
I hope that you will all pay great attention to our advertising campaign and boost the local businesses that we help support.
Franklin Countians deserve better than having to drive 30 minutes to by their goods.
We don't have to.
Local merchants and industrial leaders have been the backbone to our county for years and now it's time to show them our support.
Shop in Franklin County.
