Kermit C. Thompson, 72, of Rural Hawk Point, Mo., passed away quietly in his sleep Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at his home.
He was born July 27, 1936, in Russellville, Ala., to Clinton and Adel (Pennington) Thompson. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Wells in July 1985 in Franklin, Tenn.
He grew up in the Russellville area and worked for many years at Cummins in Columbus, Ind. In addition to spending time with his family, fishing and woodworking were his favorite hobbies.
He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis; daughter, Patrice Brady and husband Rome of Connersville, Ind.; sons, Wayne Thompson of Columbus, Ind., and Kermit Thompson of Herrin, Ill.; step-son, Steve Mount of Troy, Mo.; sisters, VonScelle Fretwell, Christine Trapp and husband Ryan, Betty Smith, Mary Edwards and husband Robert, Vicki Lambert and husband Jerry, Sandra Marshall and husband Terry and Janet McKinon; brothers, Alton Thompson and Harold Ray Thompson and wife Sharon; grandchildren, Krysta Thompson, Joshua Heidlage, Dakota Thompson, Sydney Thompson and Elektra Thompson; step-grandchildren, Amber Poole, Joshua Mount and Shelby Mount; great-grandchildren, Aydan Arrington, Starla Poole, Chad Poole, Jayla Poole, Jezze Poole and Michael Paul Mount; and many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mack Arthur Thompson; and step-son, Michael Mount.

Peggy Louise Williams

Peggy Williams, 73, of Russellville, Ala., passed away Nov. 28, 2008.
She was a native of Esther, Mo., and a member of West Highland Baptist Church. Her greatest love was her church and her family. Her life was dedicated to caring for both. She enjoyed crafts, reading and writing poems.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 2 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Bro. Thomas Thornton officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memory Gardens Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Amanda Vaughn; sisters, Goldie Weekley, Dorothy Reeder and Ethel Newland; and great-grandson, Gus Mitchell.
She is survived by her husband, Herman Gilbert Williams of Russellville; daughters, Diane Pounders and husband Rodney, Joanie Latimer and husband Bobby and Linda Kay Williams; sons, Ricky Williams and wife Jeanie,
Ed Williams and wife Diane and Michael Williams; grandchildren, Stephanie Ridgeway, Cliff Pounders, Megan Pounders, Jennifer Mitchell, Kristy Jeffreys, Kendra Flanagan, Ben Williams, Carissa Williams, Mandy Neltner, Jessica Latimer, Krystal Martin, Kasey Martin, Jeremy Williams and Jarrod Williams; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mark Flanagan, Ben Williams, Cliff Pounders, Jeremy Williams, Jaime Valdez and Bobby Latimer.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Burns Nursing Home and the many wonderful people that cared so much for her and express its thanks to the many friends, neighbors and family for their loving support and prayers.

Elvin Eugene "Pee Wee" Middleton, 71, of Haleyville, Ala., passed away Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at his home.
He was born November 29, 1936, in Evergreen to Cecil Alvin and Ruth Alene Middleton. He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 29 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville. Burial was Sunday, Nov. 30 in Magnolia Cemetery in Evergreen.
He is survived by her son, Laula Eugene Middleton; grandchild, McKenzie Middleton; sisters, Joyce Ledbetter and June McGougan; and brother, Cecil E. Middleton.

Clara M. Patton

Clara M. Patton, 72, of Russellville, Ala., passed away Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at Burns Nursing Home.
She lived her entire life in Franklin County and was a member of Tharptown Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 30 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Eddie Wix officiating. Burial was in Tharptown Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmie R. Patton of Russellville; mother, Fairy E. Hicks of Russellville; son, Danny D. Patton of Russellville; brother, Curtis E. Hicks and wife Bobbie of Moulton; sisters, Barbara Uptain and husband O'Neal, and Jean Wagnon, all of Muscle Shoals; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace E. Hicks.

Frances Virginia Holden

Frances Virginia Holden, 92, of Russellville, Ala., passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, at Burns Nursing Home.
She lived most of her life in Franklin County and was a member of Siloam Baptist Church. She was retired from Founders Life Insurance Company with 14 years of service.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Bro. Coy Marbutt officiating. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens in Tuscumbia.
She is survived by her son, Harold D. Holden of Russellville; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley Leon Holden, and parents, Hicks and Frances Davis.
