More attests made in meth case

Franklin County officials made two more arrests Wednesday night as the investigation of the purchase of meth components at local retailers continues.
Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott said Josh Kip Pinkard, 20, of 8504 Highway 81 in Phil Campbell, and Justin Matthew Ergle, 19, of 200 Frost Lane in Russellville, were both charged with second-degree attempting to manufacturer meth, which is a Class B felony and punishable by two to 20 years in prison upon conviction according to the Alabama Criminal Code.
"These arrests stem from an ongoing investigation of the purchase of agents used to manufacture meth," Plott said. "Franklin County has a zero tolerance policy for this and we're enforcing it to the letter."
Plott said that Pinkard and Ergle both allegedly assisted other people in their production of meth by purchasing catalyst and agents used for cooking meth.
