Martha Lou Tyra

Martha Lou Tyra, 82, of Tuscumbia, passed away Friday, Nov. 30.
She is survived by her son, Bobby Joe Tyra and wife, Carolyn; grandson, Bobby Dion Tyra; granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Brown and husband, Richard; great grandsons, Jacob and Joshua Brown; sister, Mary Edna Garrison; brother, Daniel Posey; sister-in-law, Thelma Vandiver; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.B. Tyra; parents, O'Dell and Mary Vandiver; sister, Rebecca Vandiver; brothers, Dell Vandiver and Delmar Vandiver.
Howard Taylor

Howard Franklin Taylor, age 85, of Isbell, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at Russellville Hospital. He was born May 25, 1922 to Henry Archie and Fannie Mae Taylor and was a lifelong resident of Franklin County. He proudly served our country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II while stationed in North Africa and Italy. He was a retired stonemason from Alabama Limestone. He had a passion for fishing and hunting. He dearly loved his family.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2007 prior to the 2 p.m. funeral at Spry Memorial Chapel with Pastor Corey Cochran officiating the service. Burial will be in the Franklin Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred Willis Taylor; sons, Glenn W. Taylor, and wife, Cindy, of Florence, and Dale F. Taylor and wife, Sharon, of Birmingham; grandchildren, Melanie Taylor Laird, and husband, John, and Chad Willis Taylor; sisters, Doris Johnson, Betty Fretwell and husband, Ray, and Arlene Newell; several nieces and nephews and many special friends.
Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.

Hazel Densmore Rowe, age 84, of Phil Campbell, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007. She was a native of Winston County and a resident of Franklin County.
Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Akins Funeral Home in Russellville. Graveside services will follow the visitation at 11:30 a.m. at Colbert Memorial Gardens in Tuscumbia with Pastor Billy Cornelius officiating.
She is survived by daughter, Jessie Trapp of Russellville; sister, Thelma Ivey of Double Springs; grandchildren, Tommy and Timmy Trapp, and LaTrina Brannon; great-grandchildren, Brandy Pierce, Tracy Holaway, Jeremy and Jarrod Morgan, Josh Brannon, Ty and Chasity Trapp; and five great great grandchildren,
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleve and Rachel Densmore; husband, Elmer Mayfield; and husband, Stanley Rowe; brothers, Harvey Densmore, Hevvie Densmore, Jack Densmore, Troy Densmore, and A.C. Densmore.
Akins Funeral Home in Russellville assisted the family.
