Haleyville defeats Bobcats

HALEYVILLE – Class 4A Haleyville swept Phil Campbell Tuesday.
The Phil Campbell varsity boys led 22-20 at halftime, but the Lions used an 18-9 run in the third quarter to win 56-42.
Caleb Thompson led Phil Campbell with 10 points. Tate Canida (9), Tanner Maddox (8), Lawrence Butts (7), Pablo Santiago (6), Jonathan Dill (3) and Adam Mitchell (3) also scored for the Bobcats.
Jarrod Evans led Haleyville with 15 points, and Jud Sherrill added 12.
The Phil Campbell varsity girls lost 56-42 to the Lady Lions, despite a game-high 22 points from Chasity Morgan.
Jessica Taylor had nine points and 11 rebounds, and Alissa Smith (7), Shannon Gasaway (2) and Tatum Benford (2) also scored for the Lady Bobcats.
Caroline King led Haleyville with 17 points, and Shelby League scored 12.
