Ruth Mageline Forrester

Ruth Mageline Forrester, 87, of Red Bay, passed away Oct. 28.
A private graveside service was held at Ebenezer Cemetery on Tuesday, October 30, 2007.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Forrester.
Evelyn Josephine Cornelius
October 26, 2007
Evelyn Josephine Cornelius was born May 24, 1921 in Lawrence County.
She passed away October 26, 2007 at the age of 86. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Oct. 29 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with James Pridmore and Billy Cornelius officiating. Burial was in Rock Creek Cemetery in Double Springs.
She is survived by her children, Billy (Christine) Cornelius, Danny (Doris) Cornelius, Johnny W. Cornelius, Mack (Sharon) Cornelius, Henry (Jane) Cornelius, Glenda (Jack) Brown, Brenda Fay Harraway, Laura Matthews, Edna Ruth Bowman, Ellen (Bruce) Stephens, Frankie Cornelius and J.D. Cornelius; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Laura Sutherland; husband, Joe Cornelius; step-children, Willard Cornelius, Loyal Alvin Cornelius, Gwendolyn Hassell, Tresse Crosley, Aubie Cornelius, Nita Sortoris and Sarah Taylor; siblings, Munk, Elvis, Vic, Evelina, Bobby and Dee Sutherland, Louise Sutherland Adair, Marie Sutherland Rexzall, Anna Bell Pipkins and Shirley Gossa.
James Harold "Bull" McNutt

James Harold "Bull" McNutt, 61, of Haleyville, passed away Oct. 27 at Trinity Medical Center. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, retired from Fontaine and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Oct. 30 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ron Horton officiating. Burial followed in Winston Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville. He is survived by his wife, Linda Brannon McNutt; son, Brent McNutt and wife, Angela; daughter, Crystal McNutt; Grandsons, Trent and Hunter McNutt; brothers, Rayford McNutt, Stanley McNutt and Danny McNutt and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Myrtle McNutt.
Vanuel E. Lewis

Vanuel E. Lewis, 78, of Elba, died Oct. 30 of natural causes. Visitation will be held today, Nov. 2, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Knights of Pythias with Rev. Luther Rye officiating.
He was a native of Russellville.
He is survived by his sons, Joseph Lewis and wife, Donna, of Little River Academy, Texas, James Lewis and wife, Lisa, of Elba and Dewayne Lewis, of Enterprise; daughters, Ruth Lewis, of Ozark, Mae White and husband, Ray, of Hackleburg, Elizabeth Gleiter and husband, Larry, of Janesville, Wisc.; brother, Franklin Lewis and wife, Linda, of Cunningham, Kent.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gallon and Lillian Lewis; brothers, Stancil Lewis, David Lewis, Calvin Lewis and Truman Lewis; sisters, Irene Brannon, Marie Chrisp, Dolly Lewis; daughter, Doris Lewis and son, Daniel Lewis.
