The Russellville Police Department arrested two city men for allegedly taking jewelry from a Russellville residence.
Police Chief Chris Hargett said that Clint Hall, 29, of 415 Cotaco Street in Russellville, and Stacy Deon Elliott, 32, of 244 Gravel Hill Road in Russellville, were taken into custody Monday morning in connection with a burglary that occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday morning at 408 Cotaco Street in Russellville.
"Items taken from the residence include several pieces of jewelry," Hargett said.
They were both charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree theft of property. According to the Alabama Criminal Code, both charges are Class C felonies and are punishable with one year and one day to 10 years in prison upon conviction.
While bond was set at $15,000 for the duo, both Hall and Elliott are both still in custody due to prior offenses. Hargett said that Hall was being held because he was serving a suspended sentence. Elliott was being held on a probation violation.
