James Elverette Humphres

James Elverette Humphres, age 79, of Vina died June 29, 2007 at the Care Center of Red Bay. He was born September 6, 1927 in Alabama to Harve and Jessie Burks Humphres. He was a member of New Union Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Morris Humphres and Rastus Humphres.
Funeral Services were held Sunday, July 1 with Bro. Jimmy Berry officiating the service.
Burial was in the Halltown Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Lindley, Jimmy Massey, Johnny Weatherford, Kevin Humphres, and Ethan Humphres.
He was survived by cousins and a host of friends.

Charles Nix Hellums
July 3, 2007
Charles Nix Hellums, age 80, of Golden, Miss. died July 3, 2007 at his home. He was born in Belmont, Miss. to Wallace and Arba Moore Hellums.
He lived in Red Bay, Huntsville and Rogersville. He was a navy veteran of World War II, and retired from the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville after serving 35 years.
He served as a director staff member for the Cahaba Shrine Temple in Huntsville.
Graveside services were held July 7 at the Belmont City Cemetery with Bro. Phillip Vinson and Bro. Jerry Hooper officiated the service. Pallbearers were Thomas Armstrong, Horace Stepp, Bruce Hellums, Vollie Pierce, and Dicky Stepp.
He is survived by son, Charles Hellums, Jr., daughter, Susan Pfeiffer of Atlanta; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister, Ernesteen Armstrong and a brother, Wallace Hellums, both of Red Bay.

James Lyndon Taylor
July 3, 2007
James Lyndon Taylor, age 71, of Haleyville died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Russellville Hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of Haleyville, and attended the Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Haleyville with Hugh Cavendar officiating. Burial was in the Littleville Cemetery in Haleyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Pearlie Taylor, and a sister, Shirley Dean Taylor.
He is survived by his sons, James Scott Taylor and Mark Ronald Taylor; bothers Wilton Taylor and Doyal Taylor, both of Haleyville; and Horace Taylor of Sweetwater, Tenn.; sister, Wilma Lowman, and five grandchildren, Aleisha Taylor, Zane Taylor, Jessie Taylor, Courtney Taylor and Abby Taylor.
Pinkard Funeral Home of Haleyville assisted the family.
Daulton Williams
July 3, 2007
Daulton Williams, age 73, of Bear Creek passed away July 3, 2007 at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Bear Creek, a member of Bear Creek Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 6, 2007 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Haleyville with Gilbert Behel and Vance Hutton officiating the service. Burial was in the Bear Creek Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by wife, Oma Lee Williams, and parents, Bonnie and Clara Williams.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna Baumgardner, and husband, Dan, of North Carolina; brothers, Oliver Williams, Monroeville, Ala., B.G. Williams, and Terry Williams and wife, Karen, all of Bear Creek; sister, Sharon Backenstose and husband, Mike, of Bear Creek, granddaughter, Megan Nix; great-grandson, Aron Nix; nieces, Shay Shaffer and Lynn Williams; nephews, Senn Williams, Ian Williams, Paul Williams, and B.J. Williams.
Pinkard Funeral Home of Haleyville assisted the family.
Dr. Austin Benson Ezzell

Dr. Austin Benson Ezzell of Hermitage, Tenn., died 26, 2007, in McKendree Towers at the age of 92.
He was a born and lived in Franklin County for many years, and was a member of Woodmont Hills Church of Christ and alumnus of Belgreen High School, Auburn University, Michigan State University, and Ohio State University.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Hill Ezzell; three sons, Ray Ezzell and wife, Linda, of Lebanon, Tenn.; Russ Ezzell and wife, Sarah, of Charleston, S. Carolina; and Dave Ezzell and, wife, Pam, of Nashville, Tenn.; one step-son, Stephen Hill and wife, Caroline, of Tampa, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ione Bingham Ezzell and two sisters, Beatrice Brown and Louise Seay.
Funeral services were held June 29, 2007 in Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton's Dignity Hall and entombment followed in Woodlawn's' Cross Mausoleum in Nashville, Tenn.
