New tide coach to speak at coach clinic

A Veteran collegiate coach now joining the ranks with the Crimson Tide will be among those on a star-studded list of guests at a golf tournament and coaching clinic at the Marriott Conference Center.
Set to be held June 22, first year Alabama defensive coordinator, Kevin Steele will be among the coaches speaking at the clinic.
Steele comes to Alabama after spending four seasons as linebackers coach under Bobby Bowden at Florida State.
Steele was the head coach at Baylor University from 1999-2002 before moving to Florida State. He coached the linebackers for the NFL's Carolina Panthers from 1995-98 before taking the head-coaching job at Baylor and had assistant coaching stints at Nebraska (1989-94), Tennessee (1987-88), Oklahoma State (1984-86) and New Mexico State (1983).
Coach Perry Swindall is the coaching clinic coordinator and other special guest speakers will be Coach Bobby Wallace and Coach Sam Graham from West Alabama, Coach Bill Clark from Prattville High, Coach Allan Creasey from Athens High and Coach Scott Leasley from Mary G. Montgomery High.
The golf tournament will be held at Robert Trent Jones course with an 8 a.m. tee time. It will be a 4 man scramble with a $300 entry fee.
The coaching clinic will begin at 2:30 at the Marriott Conference Center.
Cost to attend the clinic is $25.
