Russellville plans big choral reunion

With the push of a button, the choral room at the Russellville High School fine arts building is transformed into a show room.
In just a matter of seconds every chair in the room is stacked on top of one another and the room becomes a wide-open dance floor.
Long-time music teacher Patti Kimbrough and the RHS show choir are busy preparing for the annual spring show, which will be held in April.
This year, however, they may need a little more dance space.
As part of the Russellville city schools 75th anniversary, the spring show will feature a reunion of former choral students who have worked under Kimbrough's tutelage.
Kimbrough teaches 250 students a day at the high school and middle school so she had to limit the reunion to former students that she taught.
This year's show will feature a collection of music through the years by her current students, followed by solos, groups and instrumentalists who have been part of the RHS choir during the past 10 years.
So far, there have been approximately 30 former students who have responded that they will take part in the show. Many of the participants have gone on to become music teachers, choreographers, church choir directors and professional musicians.
The evening's show will include a multimedia presentation of former choral highlights through the years with a patriotic tribute for the grand finale which will include all current and former students.
