Groce signs with Jacksonville

RUSSELLVILLE - Torrey Groce's dream of going to college on a football scholarship almost never got off the ground.
Groce listened. Four years (and 53 wins) later, the rest is history.
So are Jeremy Helms, Maurice McCulloch, Michael Abernathy and everybody else the 6-foot-2, 260-pound Groce has blocked for during his career, which included three straight trips to the Class 5A championship game and a first-team All-State selection this past season.
Swindall said that Groce's character and work ethic will help him succeed at the next level.
Groce was also offered a scholarship by Middle Tennessee State, but he liked the educational opportunity presented by Jacksonville State.
