    QUITMAN Graveside services for James Paul Abston will be held today at 2 p.m. at Center Ridge Cemetery in Clarke County with the Rev. Richard Greeson officiating. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Abston, 91, of Quitman, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at McNeil Personal Care Center in Enterprise. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II.
    Survivors include his nephews, Douglas Mayo, David Mayo, Daniel Mayo and Dewey Mayo, all of Quitman.
    Pallbearers will be David Mayo, Craig Mayo, Jason Davidson, Matt Mayo, Kelly Mayo and Daniel Miller.
    Visitation will be today 10 a.m.-noon at the funeral home.
    Retired registered nurse
    Services for Bettye Lois Speed Arundel will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Goodman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Collinsville.
    Mrs. Arundel, 77, of Little Rock, died Monday, July 5, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a retired registered nurse from East Mississippi State Hospital. She is a veteran of the U.S. Army as a 1st Lt. She was a member of Duffee Baptist Church.
    Survivors include her children, Mick Arundel of Little Rock, Pat Arundel of Hartselle, Ala., and Martha Young of Hattiesburg; grandchildren, Micah Arundel, Josh Arundel, Justin Heskew, Blair Young, Sarah Young, Ryan Young and Meaghan Arundel.
    She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lionel Speed, Kenric Speed, and Mack Speed; sisters, Mildred Sthal and Virginia Sanders.
    Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Services for Glenda Couch will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Jacob officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
    Mrs. Couch, 66, of Meridian, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, in her home. She attended Grace Church in Collinsville. She was the retired director of nursing at Matty Hersee Hospital and later retired as a nursing instructor at Meridian Community College.
    Survivors include her daughter, Teena Couch and her fianc, Kevin Gray, of Brandon; sons, Terry Couch of Meridian, Mike Couch and his wife, Tammy, of Collinsville and Calvin Couch and his wife, Jennifer, of Clinton; his mother, Lorine Bell of Ft. Payne, Ala.; sisters, Rachel Newsom of Sylvania, Ala., Rhenda Edwards of Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers, Clinton Bell of Ft. Payne, Jimmy Bell of Homer, Ga. and Danny Bell, of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Christi Jennifer, Curtis Couch, Ryan Couch, Dereck Couch, Scott Couch, Jonathan Couch and Jarred Couch; great-grandchildren, Canaan Hutton and Ryanne Couch.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Thomas Couch, father, Johnnie T. Bell and a brother, Thesmer Bell.
    Memorials may be made to Meridian Community College Nursing Program.
    Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

    QUITMAN Services for Glenn Keith Driskill will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Rolling Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Clay Chancelor and Jerry Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Chancellor Cemetery in Clarke County. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Driskill, 43, of Quitman, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, in Hickory.
    Survivors include his sons, Brian Keith Driskill, of Causeyville and Garrett Chance Driskill of Meridian; a daughter, Kesia Marie Driskill of Causeyville; a brother, Rickey Driskill of Hollandale; sisters, Tammy Carlton of Lauderdale and Marsha Griffin of Meridian.
    Pallbearers will be Sam Kidd, Tim Mixon, Ted Hailes, Pat Kidd, Randy Hailes and Tony Chancelor.
    Visitation will be 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at Rolling Creek Baptist Church and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

    Services for Malcolm Edward "Ed" Phillips will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Carl Stephens and Kermit Sharp officiating. Burial will be in Moore Cemetery in Collinsville.
    Mr. Phillips, 84, of Collinsville, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served in World War II. He was a member of the Methodist faith and was an avid guitar player. He loved his farm, his grocery store and blue grass music.
    Survivors include his wife, Nadine Talbert Phillips of Collinsville; sons, Malcolm Steven Phillips of Collinsville and Maj. David Stanley Phillips, U.S. Marine Corps, stationed in Japan; a daughter, Diane Phillips Campe of Collinsville; grandchildren, Hollie Astridge of Colorado, Heidi Woodworth of Texas, John Campe of Collinsville, Krystina Phillips of North Carolina and Stefanie Phillips of Collinsville; step-grandchildren, Lynn Manis of Collinsville and Shannon Mosley of Japan and a brother, Nelson Phillips of Butler, Ala.
    Pallbearers will be Steven Woodworth, Danny Astridge, Douglas Savell, James Joyner, Howard Clearman Tony Clearman and John Campe.
    Visitation will be today 6:30 p.m.- 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Arrangements were incomplete at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home for Thomas J. Scarbrough, 73, of Meridian, who died Monday, July 5, 2004, at Heartfelt Hospice.
