Retired taxi driver
PRESTON Services for Norman R. Jimerson will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Wilson Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Chamberlin Cemetery in Preston.
Mr. Jimerson, 60, of Meridian, died Thursday, May 27, 2004, in his home. He was a retired taxi driver with Meridian Cab Co.
He was a member of Mt. Valley Baptist Church, Meridian Taxi Cab Association and the Mississippi Taxi Cab Association
Survivors include his wife, Sallie Jimerson of Meridian; his parents, Ray and Edna Jimerson of Meridian; sons Terrell Barfield and wife Sabrina of Meridian and Norman Jimerson Jr. and wife Desiree of Eddison, N.J.; daughters Jacqueline Griffin and her husband Tyron of Meridian and Renea Jimerson of Connecticut; a brother Michael Jimerson of Meridian; sisters Linda Presley of Meridian and Gwendolyn Waterhouse and her husband Ronald of Seattle, Wash.; and grandchildren Whitney je' Walk, Darrell Barfield Jr., Justin Jimerson, Jordan Jimerson, Teochia Pratt, Patricia Walk, Savannah Walk, Cambrionna Pratt Barfield and Precious Ramsey.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother and a brother.
Pallbearers will be Ali Jimerson, Cody Jimerson, Michael C. French, Kenny Roberts, Michael Ray Jimerson and James French. Honorary pallbearers are Tyron Griffin, Willie Walker, the Meridian Taxi-Cab Association and the Mississippi Taxi-Cab Association. Flowerbearers are family and friends.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
PHILADELPHIA Graveside services for Frances Scott will be held today at 4 p.m. at Cedarlawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Dan Howard officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Service, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Scott, 84, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at Neshoba County General Hospital. She was a retired probation officer supervisor.
Survivors include a sister, Lulgene Crews of Houston, Texas; five nieces and three nephews.
Visitation will be today from 2 p.m.-3:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Retired salesman
Services for Ransom Lafayette Mayfield Sr. will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Marcus Finch and the Rev. Mike Russell officiating. Burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery in Taylorsville.
Mr. Mayfield, 84, of Meridian, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, in his home. He was a retired office supply salesman and a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel Vance Mayfield; daughters Kay Mayfield O'Shaughnessy of Meridian and Regina M. Ueltschey and her husband C.M. "Chuck" of Gulfport; sons Ransom F. Mayfield Jr. and his wife Beverly Magee Mayfield of Hartford, Ala., Henry N. Mayfield and his wife Elysia Garver Mayfield of North Yorkshire, England, and John Olin Mayfield and his wife Mary Henley Mayfield of Babenhausen, Germany; 11 grandchildren, C.M. "Chip" Ueltschey III, and his wife, Paige, of Austin, Texas, Claire Marie Ueltschey, of Norfolk, Va., A. Lee Ueltschey, of Gulfport, Ransom L. Mayfield III, Brandon K. Mayfield and Marissa Lee Mayfield, all of Hartford, A. Kate Mayfield, of Lexington, Ky., Jonathan D. Mayfield and Marlena V. Mayfield, both of North Yorkshire, Joshua R. Mayfield and John D. Mayfield, both of Babenhausen; and one great-grandchild, C.M. "Chase" Ueltschey IV.
The family requests memorials be made to French Camp Academy, One Fine Place, French Camp, Mississippi.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Homemaker
Graveside services for Martha Burns Burton will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery, with the Rev. Wayne Randall officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Burton, 68, of Meridian, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was a homemaker. She was a loving and gracious mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Othell Burton of Meridian; her children Mark Holcombe and his wife, Carolyn, Tim Boutwell and Keith Holcombe, all of Meridian; grandchildren Cherish Smith and her husband, Mike, of Arkansas, Joshua Holcombe of Oxford and Emily Holcombe, Jeremy Holcombe and Kayla Boutwell, all of Meridian; five great-grandchildren; her sisters Avis Whitney of Guntersville, Ala., Wilda Hawkins and her husband, Ed, of Saraland, Ala., and Joyce Strawser of Danville, Ill.; and a brother Doyle Hitt of Mobile, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents, O.T. Hitt and Sudie Pratt; a brother, Thomas E. Hitt and a sister, Nina Wilkerson Mabry.
Pallbearers will be Mike Smith, Josh Holcombe, Ronnie Wilkerson, Bill Boutwell, Billy Covington and Sandy Singleton.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements were incomplete at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home for Mary Doss, 60, of Meridian, who died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
