Knights face must-win game against Purvis

Two area baseball teams host MHSAA South State baseball playoff games tonight, but they are in very different situations.
Following a 7-3 loss to Purvis on Saturday night, the West Lauderdale High School Knights must win in today's 7 p.m. game to force a game three of the best-of-three series.
Should WL win, that game would be played in Purvis on Wednesday. The winner of the series advances to the MHSAA Class 3A State Championship beginning on Saturday.
Enterprise High School can win the MHSAA Class 2A South State Championship with a victory over North Forrest at 7 p.m. today at Enterprise.
The Bulldogs, now 24-7 on the season, are expected to send left-handed ace Wade Weathers (13-2) to the mound. Weathers pitched two innings of relief in Saturday's game, which was won by Enterprise 5-2.
Game three of the series, if necessary, would be played in Hattiesburg on Wednesday.
The MHSAA Class 2A State Championship Series is also set to begin on Saturday.
