    Retired Mississippi Department of Transportation
    Services for Floise L. Alexander were to be held today at 10 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Jackie Strebeck. Burial was to be in Providence Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Alexander, 93, of the Duffee Community, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, in his home.
    Survivors include his son, Edward L. Alexander of Duffee; four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Johnson Alexander; and a son, F.L. Alexander.
    GILBERTOWN, Ala. Services for Ray Allen Murrell will be held today at 2 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lowell Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Murrell, 73, of Millry, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, in his home.
    Survivors include his sons, Timothy Allen Murrell of Robertsdale and Robbie Alan Murrell of Clarksville, Tenn.; daughters, Susan Murrell Darling of Bradenton, Fla., Cynthia Eileen Murrell Schill of Millry and Sandra Annette Murrell Shannon of McHenry, Miss.; brothers, Albert Murrell of Foley and Paul Murrell of Addison, Ill.; and six grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the church.
    Retired U.S. Air Force
    FOREST Services for Master Sgt. Calvin Evans will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lake United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens. Ott and Lee Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Evans, 84, of Lake, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest. He was a native of Montrose and had lived in the Lawrence and Lake communities. He was a member of Lake United Methodist Church.
    Mr. Evans retired as a master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force after more than 21 years of service. He retired from the civil service after more than 17 years of service and was a member of the Columbus VFW.
    Survivors include his wife, F. Belle Evans of Lake; a daughter, Cecelia Montague of Southhaven and Jonesboro, Ark.; two grandchildren, David Montague and Cari Gilley; five great-grandchildren, Matthew Montague, John Montague, Adam Montague, Jessie Gilley and Cyndi Gilley.
    Memorials may be made to Lake United Methodist Church or a charity of choice.
    Retired Meridian Cab Co. dispatcher
    Services for Sandra Jones will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie R. Clark officiating. burial will be in Sunset Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Ms. Jones, 51, of Meridian, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, in her home.
    Survivors include her devoted soul mate, George Luther Jackson; daughters, Verusha Chandler, Qvester Jones and Deondra Jones; a sister, Louise Davis and her husband, Joe, all of Meridian; a brother, O.C. Brooks of Pacomia, Calif.; nieces, Rhonda Thomas and her husband, Benjamin of Meridian, Beverly Smith and her husband, Larry, Deborah Coney and her husband, Melvin, all of Detroit, and Shameeka Davis of Meridian; nephews, Major Sgt. Gregory Davis and his wife, Carol, of Saudia Arabia and Fredrick Davis of Meridian; grandchildren, Vemondia, Andria, Brittany, Cassandra, Zhaneshia, Kodi, De'Austa and La'Dashia; a great-grandson, Quin' Darrius; great-nieces, Amber, Candance and Erica; great-nephews, Jacolby and Di'ante; and several other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Fannie and Earnest; a son, Demetrez Jones; sisters, Annie B. Brooks and Ora D. Brooks; a nephew, Derrick Davis; and a son-in-law, Lafrance Chandler.
    Visitation will be Thursday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Services for Mark East were held Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. at Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Hull officiating. Burial was in Reformation Cemetery.
    Mr. East, 32, of Jackson, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, in his home.
    Survivors include his parents, Jeff and Elizabeth East of Jackson; a sister, Jennifer Leigh East of Dallas, Texas; his grandmother, Billie Luke East of Meridian; and his grandfather, Woodrow Lowery of Brandon.
    Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Marshall A. McMullen Sr., 86, of Meridian, who died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at Regency Hospital in Meridian.
