The Clarkdale Lady Bulldogs needed an extra period and a little help to take a 2-1 win over Southeast Lauderdale in local prep soccer action on Thursday night to move its overall record to 5-3.
The game went into overtime, but Lauren Pedroso got the game winning goal which took a fortunate bounce over the Southeast Lauderdale keeper to give the Lady Bulldogs the narrow win.
The Lady Bulldogs got on the board first in the opening six minutes of play on a goal from Haley Heard to give Clarkdale a 1-0 edge.
Southeast Lauderdale didn't stay down for long as the Lady Tiger fought back to tie the game at 1-1. Lindsey Graham was given credit for the score as the game went into the halftime break with the score remaining at 1-1.
Southeast Lauderdale did come very close to taking a 2-1 lead with about three minutes remaining in the second half, but the Clarkdale defense would make a huge stand. Graham was able to break away from the middle of the field and make a great cross over pass to Kelly Lewis, but the Lady Bulldogs were right at the goal to defend the shot and knock the ball out of bounds to end the threat.
The game winning goal came in the first two minutes of the overtime period from Pedroso to give the Lady Bulldogs the big road victory over the Lady Tigers. Southeast fell to 4-3 for the season with the loss to Clarkdale.

Clarkdale extended the lead to 2-0 before the half with a goal from Chris Sirven thanks to a great assist from Kevin McKissack. Sirven was also given credit for an assist on the first goal by Miller.
The Bulldogs went on to score four more goals in the second half to take the convincing win over the Tigers. Miller collected his second goal of the match to open the second half due to a big assist from Sirven to make the score 3-0.
Sirven drained a penalty kick for the Bulldogs a few minutes later and Sirven got the hat trick with his final goal of the night to lead Clarkdale to victory. Daniel Warren also chipped in with one goal in the second half to round out the Bulldogs scoring.
