Knights recover from slow start to down Yellowjackets

You'd have a hard time convincing the Union Yellowjackets of that following the Knights' 76-46 victory Tuesday night at Collinsville.
Union, which came in with only one win, led 12-7 after one quarter by controlling the tempo and the Knights also getting off to a cold start from the floor. On one possession, West missed four shots from within five feet of the basket.
A 6-0 run put West up 17-16 with 5:48 remaining in the first half. The Knights then scored 20 of the next 29 points to carry a 37-25 lead into halftime.
West opened the second half with a 12-0 run to go up 49-25 and remove any suspense.
The Knights led 60-37 through three quarters after getting 53 points in the second and third periods.
East Central Classic MVP Chris Seaphus led West, 11-2, with 17 points. Daniel Huggins scored 10, Mark Ford and Kolin Boyd both had eight and Lee Nelson and Ben Powell both had seven. Tony Jones and Rayshun Hopson scored five each.
Union, 1-6, got 16 points from Anthony Johnson, 11 from Jacob Casey, and six from Marcus Gill.

The Lady Knights scored the game's first 10 points and 20 of the first 22 in taking the opener.
West led 22-7 after one quarter and carried a 41-15 lead into halftime following 14 turnovers by Union in the first half.
Union trailed 47-25 to start the fourth quarter, but outscored the Lady Knights 17-10 over the final eight minutes.
