Homemakers prepare for 19th annual show

Area residents can get an early start on Christmas shopping this weekend when local craftsmen and artists display their work at the 19th Annual Homemakers Arts and Crafts Show and Sale.
The event will begin Saturday from 10 a.m.n5 p.m. and continue on Sunday from noonn5 p.m. at the Frank Cochran Center in Highland Park. Admission is 50 cents.
Proceeds from the show will benefit different agencies in Lauderdale County that the homemaker volunteers support, including Care Lodge and Hope Village for Children.
All 80 booth spaces have been filled on the inside and there will be several exhibitors on the outside, weather permitting. Homemade vegetable soup, chili, and other homemade foods will also be available.
The following is a list of the artists and craftsmen who will have a large selection of handmade items on sale:
Diane Archie: Oil Lamps, ceramics, painted wood, mailboxes and Christmas tree base covers
Frances Barton: Homemade jelly, small Christmas ornaments
Frances Blackmon: Machine embroidered shirts (T-shirts, denim shirts) baby items, children's clothing
James Blakney: Candles, bird feeders, holiday floral arrangements and bracelets
Mary Borntrager: Baked goods (breads, cakes, cookies, pies, rolls, etc.), doll clothes, rugs, pillows and wood crafts
Jean Boykin: Floral arrangements, handbags, pillows, dog wear and Bible covers
Jo Ann, Ed and Monica Bradley: Purses, windows, paintings, jewelry, lamps, dish towels, baby quilts
Dot Brooks: Canned goods, baked goods, candies and cookies
Bebe Brown: Ceramics, angels, Thanksgiving items, Christmas items and wreaths
Susan T. Byra: Crochet, beading, cross-stitch and jewelry
Tim and Robbi Caldwell: Candles, soap, body crme, body splash, beaded candle holders and wreaths
Alexis Campbell: Hand painted bottles, tin, terra cotta, wood, etc. using one-stroke technique
Coleman MHV Club: Baked goods, stuffed animals, aprons
Bettie Cook: Doll dresses for 111⁄2 -inch dolls such as Barbie, American Girl and Bitty Baby, baby blankets and quilts
Billie Culpepper and Jamie Pogue: Bears, purses, Christmas and other gift items
Ray Davis: Gourds, stepping stones, flower pots and an assortment of painted items
Stacy Davis: Jewelry and purses
