The Lauderdale County School Board voted unanimously Tuesday to purchase software that will allow teachers to design their own tests that mimic statewide standardized tests.
The software, which will let teachers download tests and lesson plans, will cost the district about $60,000 for the first year and about $40,000 each additional year. School Superintendent David Little said the software is a good investment.
Board members took the action in a specially called meeting.
Also at the meeting, school board members voted to send their $50.2 million budget for the 2003-2004 school year to the Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors. The school's fiscal year began July 1.
