Clarkdale girls take close win over Enterprise

JorD'an Orr hit the Enterprise Bulldogs with her best shot as she fired away going six-for-six at the free throw line in the fourth quarter to give Clarkdale the close victory 46-43.
The Clarkdale boys won by the heroics of Matt Tucker who led a 15-2 third period run with eight points as Clarkdale didn't look back, winning the game 62-49.

The Clarkdale girls got very solid all-around play early with some nice passing by Danielle Gaddis that led to scores by Jayme Hales and Orr.
Clarkdale led 26-18 at the half, before Enterprise took control with a 13-4 run that ended the third period period. EHS ended the third quarter with a 34-33 lead thanks to a basket by Teela McBride with three seconds.
It came down to hitting free throws in the final quarter.
Orr was sent to the line three times to keep the game alive for Clarkdale. Enterprise carried a lead of 41-38 with 3:35.
With 10 seconds left Jayme Hales put Clarkdale up 44-43. Orr then added two free throws with one second left to seal the victory.
Orr led Clarkdale with 16 points, while Misti Alexander finished the game with 9 and Felicia Kirksey had 8.
Enterprise had a chance to get back but free throws down the stretch didn't fall through.
Leading scores for Enterprise were McBride and Bester with 15, and Jimmerson finished the night with 12 total points.
Clarkdale hopes to keep it three game winning streak alive going to 3-4 on the season.

Brandon Mabry pumped in 24 points to lead homestanding Clarkdale to the 13-point win.
Rock Kirksey had five blocks for Clarkdale in the first quarter to keep Enterprise off-balance, as the home team held a 16-11 lead after eight minutes of play.
With 24 seconds left in the half, Dennis Watson nailed a three-pointer to give Enterprise the lead at 29-27 going into the third period.
Once Clarkdale stepped out on the floor for the third quarter Tucker found the groove his team needed.
Despite a little run by Enterprise with six consecutive points by Antony Harris, Clarkdale didn't give in.
Tucker, with help from Brian Tomerlin and Mabry scored 12 consecutive points, as Mabry sank a three-pointer with one second left in the third to put the winners up 46-38.
Clarkdale finished out the game by going on an 8-0 run with a magnificent dunk by Mabry with Kirksey making the long assist.
Enterprise could never get back into the game losing to Clarkdale. Leading scorers for Enterprise were Patrick McLaughlin with 17 points and Harris ending the game with 18.
Tomerlin had 16 points, while Tucker had a 14-point game. Clarkdale's record improves its record to 2-5.
Both Clarkdale and Enterprise will participate in the Enterprise invitational tournament Jan. 2-4.
