McDaniel, Patton

Laura Suzanne Patton of Quitman and Nathan Oliver McDaniel of Vossburg were married Saturday, July 7, 2001, at First Baptist Church in Quitman, with the Rev. Gary Phillips officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Dowe Patton III of Quitman and Elsie McDaniel of Vossburg.
Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Leroy Dowe Patton III and the late Mr. Patton and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Austin Smith Jr., all of Quitman.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Mr. and Mrs. A.L. McDaniel of Heidelberg. The bridegroom is the grand-nephew of the late John Oliver Manning and the late Freda Lee Manning of Vossburg.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Rose Longwitz, organist; David O'Steen, pianist; Emilia Massengale, harpist; Andrea Sykes White, soloist; and Al Brown, soloist and guitarist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of ivory matte satin accented with a French tulle wrap and finished with a semi-cathedral-length train. The corset top was embellished with rosettes and beads.
Maid of honor was Virginia Faith Patton of Quitman. Other attendants were Sherri Shepherd Beckman and Skye Wegner Carney, both of Quitman, Kathleen Meagan Dempsey of West Palm Beach, Fla., Billie Christine Devoto of St. Louis, Mo., Jacqueline Rhea Howell of Jonesboro, Ark., Tammy Lanette Kennedy of Baton Rouge, La., Kelli LaNae Mathis of Meridian, Julia Critz Patton of Madison and Casey Leighanne Pedersen of Oxford.
Stephen Miller of Quitman served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Clea Barry, Roger Beckman, Michael Harris and Joey Turner, all of Quitman, Kris Lewis and Eric Miller of Stonewall, John Todd of Pachuta, Willie Reed of Eupora, Joey Milazo of Baton Rouge, Brian Oberhausen of Clinton, Brian Ingersol of Cordova, Tenn., and John Milazo of Franklin, Tenn.
Rose petal attendants were Ruthie Marie Proctor, Rebecca Erion Proctor and Chelsea Coker Twiner.
Registry and program attendants were Jennifer Wright Garrett, Angela Redmond Traxler, Pamela Marie Hutchison, Leigh Suzanne Rigdon, Jenifer Leigh Moore and Lisa Riley Whigham.
A reception was held at Northwood Country Club following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Mr. and Mrs. Francis M. Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Anderson and Irene Nichols. Wedding greeters were Mr. and Mrs. George A. Sellers Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Teddy Rigdon.
After a honeymoon in Acapulco, Mexico, the couple resides in Brandon.
