Smith, Sandberg

Richard and Wilma Smith of Collinsville announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Rebecca, to Jonathan Carl Sandberg, son of Ken and Janice Sandberg of LaPlace, La.
The wedding will be Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Collinsville.
Miss Smith is the granddaughter of Carlton and Mary Ann Smith of Collinsville and the late J.O. and Joyce Evans of Decatur.
The bride-elect is a graduate of West Lauderdale High School and received a bachelor's degree in biology education from Mississippi State University. She received a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
While attending MSU, she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Society. At UMC, she was a class officer and on the Dean's List Award.
Miss Smith is employed as an occupational therapist by the University Hospital and Clinics in Jackson.
Mr. Sandberg is the grandson of Montie Simpson of Austin, Texas and the late Roy Simpson and Kenneth Sandberg Sr., all of Austin, Texas.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Chapel-Trafton School in Baton Rouge, La., and received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Mississippi College.
While at MC, he was a member of the baseball team, FCA and the Dean's List.
Mr. Sandberg is employed by Trustmark National Bank in Jackson.
A reception will be held in the home of Gary and Connie Joyner in Collinsville.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
