Barrett Dudley and his best friend sat on a green table outside the concession stand at West Lauderdale's baseball field at noon Saturday wolfing down pieces of pepperoni pizza.
Barrett and Hunter Hall both second graders at Kemper Academy were filling their stomachs before heading back out for the final hour of baseball drills in the eighth annual Jay Powell Baseball Camp.
The camp drew more than 200 youths in grades 3-12 as the young athletes got instruction from Powell, a former West Lauderdale High School product and current pitcher for the Texas Rangers, and at least eight other players affiliated with Major League Baseball teams.
Barrett's father, Michael, said his two sons and their friends really enjoy the camp.
Barrett said after today, he and Hunter will start practicing their skills at home.
