The Question …
Louisiana State University has been playing football since 1893. Only the true Tiger fans, or ones who own a media guide, will know the answers to today's question. What was the first team LSU played in football, what was the score of the game, what was the first team LSU ever beat and in what year did that victory come?

The first two times cross-county rivals Northeast and Southeast Lauderdale met on the basketball court this season, Dorecious Powe had her was with the Lady Tigers. And the Lady Trojans' senior forward has drown quite a bit of attention since, especially in Saturday night's title deciding matchup in the 2001 Sam Dale/Walter Ethridge Memorial Tournament. Southeast smothered Powe-one of the county's top players- and held her to just two points as the Lady Tigers rolled past the Lady Trojans 75-49.
Kemper County's boys had already locked up the title of the 2001 Sam Dale/Walter Ethridge Memorial Tournament before they hit the court to take on Enterprise Saturday afternoon. But if the Wildcats expected the Bulldogs-who were 0-2 in the tourney- to roll over, they got quite the surprise. Enterprise, despite a dismal start, rallied to give Kemper all it wanted before falling 61-58.

Tulane beat LSU 34-0 in New Orleans in the Tigers first-ever football game. It wasn't until 1894 that LSU picked up a win, that being a 36-0 triumph over the Natchez Athletic Club. The game was played in Natchez.

Joe Dunagan began his career work as an athletic trainer for Coach Eddie Sutton at Oklahoma State University.
Then radio came calling.
