Lady Rockets slug Louisville

Neshoba Central improved to 2-0 in Division 2-4A with Friday's 65-38 homecourt win over Louisville.
The Lady Rockets took a 31-22 lead into halftime and then outscored Louisville 34-16 in the second half to claim the victory.
Miranda Rosar and Krystal Wells led the Lady Rockets, 18-6, with 17 points apiece. Lena Tucker tossed in nine.
The Lady Rockets host Noxubee County Tuesday.
Louisville was led by Dee Forrest's 21 points.

Central Academy 39
The Jaguars remained unbeaten in Academy 3-A with the 17-point win at Waynesboro.
In improving to 5-0 in the league and 6-2 overall, Wayne got 14 points from Timothy Kittrell, 12 from Barrett Tynes, and eight each from Alex Brewer and Gareth Bonner.
Wayne took a 24-16 lead into halftime.
Central got 12 points from Tyler Huerkamp and 11 from Craig Giesbrecht. The Vikings fell to 1-5 in 3-A and 1-15 overall.

The Lady Jaguars outscored Central 19-3 in the fourth quarter to take the Academy 3-A win at Waynesboro.
Central led 15-14 at halftime and took a 31-23 lead into the fourth quarter.
Wayne hit nine free throws in the final period in improving to 7-6 overall and 2-3 in 3-A.
Erin Stanley led the Lady Jaguars with 16 points. Christen Palmer scored 11 and Kristian Davidson tossed in eight.
Central dropped to 8-15 overall and 3-3 in 3-A. Meagan Stokes led the Lady Vikings with 15 points. Carrie Coker scored 10 and Leslie Hancock had eight.

Patrician grabbed sole possession of the lead in Area 2A-West with the 14-point win at Toxey.
Patrician improved to 4-0 in area play and 9-2 overall. South Choctaw dropped to 3-1 and 3-9.
The Lady Saints of Patrician got 21 points from Chasity Ethridge and nine from Kirby Baxter. Brooke Norris dished out 11 assists.
SCA got 11 points from Shanna Kelly and 10 from Alanna Jackson.

Greenville St. Joe 34
The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 29-12 halftime lead in taking the Division 4-1A win over the Lady Irish at Noxapater.
In improving to 7-12 overall and 3-1 in division play, Noxapater got 15 points from Deidre Triplett, 12 from Stephanie Blankenship, and eight each from Krystle Hunter and Lacey Sanborn.
Kim Byas led St. Joe with 17 points.

The Tigers outscored the Irish 28-14 in the second half to win the Division 4-1A contest at Noxapater.
The Tigers got 13 points from Adam Forsman, 11 from Jonathan Hunter, eight from Mario White, and seven from Steven Cole in picking up their second win of the season.

The Lady Warriors upped their record to 14-8 with the Division 4-1A win at Nanih Waiya.
The Lady Warriors got 17 points from Ashley Pugh, 15 from Christy Hickman, 11 from Heather Steele, and seven from Cynthia Madison.

The Bearcats advanced to the finals of the Scott County Tournament at Sebastopol with the 18-point semifinal victory.
Forest, 17-2, got 25 points from Charles Rhodes and 10 from James Dixon. The Bearcats will meet Morton in tonight's finals at 8 p.m.
Lake, 4-12, was led by Danny Towner's 18 points.
Morton defeated Sebastopol in the other semifinal.
Scott Central girls 51

The Lady Rebels earned a berth in tonight's Scott County Tournament championship with Lake with the 15-point semifinal win over Forest. Tipoff at Sebastopol is set for 6:30 p.m.
Scott Central, 15-7, got 23 points from Kattie Nickson and 15 from Britney Burks.
Forest, 10-8, got 14 points from Sheena Evans and eight from Ebone'e Leverette.
Lake defeated Sebastopol in the other girls' semifinal.
NCA boys 52
Sylva-Bay 41
Wil Bean and Bud Loper both scored 14 points to lead the Generals to the Academy 3-A win at Sylva-Bay.
NCA also got 12 points from David White and seven from Jonathan Moore. The Generals improved to 8-9 overall and 4-2 in 3-A.
Sylva-Bay got 13 points from Tyson Brown.
The Lady Generals also won to improve to 5-13 overall. No other information was available on the girls' game.

The Lady Raiders fell to 3-14 with the whipping at Gallman. Myleia Shirley led Lamar with three points. The Lady Raiders dropped to 0-4 in Academy 3-AAA.
Lamar returns to action today at Heidelberg Academy.
Copiah got 11 points from Bethany Harris and nine from Madeline Price.

The Raiders saw their record fall to 2-10 with the Academy 3-AAA loss at Gallman. Lamar fell to 0-4 in league play.
David Haggard scored 16 points and Joe Bryant added 14 for Lamar.
Copiah got 19 points from Calen Cline and 14 from Blake Errington.

South Choctaw Aca. 62
The Saints got 25 points from Jordan May and 21 from Hunter Campbell in beating South Choctaw at Toxey.
Patrician improved to 11-3 overall and 3-1 in Area 2A-West with the wins. The Saints also got 12 rebounds from Fabian Backhaus. The Saints host Marengo Academy on Tuesday.
SCA, 3-9 and 3-1, got 15 points from Rob Dahlderg, 13 from Brad Johnson, and 11 from Jeffery Mason.

Pickens Academy 54
Sumter upped its record to 7-4 with the win at Pickens.
John Upchurch led Pickens with 18 points. Tucker Spidle and Shane Martin both scored 13 with J.D. Todd tossing in 12.
Sumter returns to action today when it hosts Marengo Academy at 4 p.m.

The Lady Tigers improved to 2-0 in the Raymond round-robin tournament and 15-3 overall with Thursday's win.
Lenora Gray led Newton with 23 points. Tonya Jordan scored 15.

Newton dropped to 10-9 with Thursday's loss in the Raymond round-robin tournament.
Newton got 17 points from Coshune Bingham, 15 from Cornelius Caraway, 11 from Ladarrian Blaylock and 10 from Zack Logan.
Jim Hill was led by Dakarai Wallace's 33 points.
Kate Griffin boys 85
Northwest 39
Kate Griffin ripped Northwest by 46 points in Thursday's ninth grade contest.
Kate Griffin got 15 points from Anthony Brown, 13 from Anouk Jackson, 11 from Jermaine Lewis, and 10 each from Maurice Naylor and Corneilous Miles.
Chris Legget led Northwest with 10.
