Football
Meridian Junior running back Fred Patton gained 150 yards rushing for the second week in a row. "He's been running hard and finding the end zone," said head coach Bill Sartin.
Southeast Junior linebacker Andy Landrum played outstanding defense with 11 tackles in the Tiger's 24-20 loss to West Lauderdale Friday night. "He led the defense," said head coach Dwane Taylor.
Clarkdale Junior running back Quinn Moffite led the Bulldog's offense in their 27-0 loss to Scott Central Friday night. "He ran hard for us and made some big plays on defense," said head coach Bubba Hathorn.
Lamar Sophomore running back Dylan Anderson had 19 carries for 102 yards in Lamar's 30-15 loss to Heritage Academy Friday night.
Northeast Sophomore defensive tackle Tievo Durr played hard ball for the Trojans in their 34-0 loss to Louisville Friday night. "He played hard all night long," said head coach Andy Stevens.
West Lauderdale Junior lineman Richie McAlister played hard on both sides of the ball in the Knight's 24-20 win over Southeast Friday night. "He gave a 100 percent effort all night long," said head coach Stan McCain.
Softball
Northeast Sophomore catcher Jennifer Bristow has been playing hard ball for the Lady Trojans on their way to the South State Championship title. "She's really been coming around pretty good as the season has progressed," said head coach Chris Harper.
Clarkdale Senior first baseman Ashley Satcher has been consistent at the plate hitting a grand slam in the Lady Bulldog's game one playoff win over Mercy Cross. "She's been our leader all year," said head coach Rick Roberson.
