    OBITUARIES FOR WEDNESDAY, OCT. 17, 2001

    YORK, Ala. Graveside services for Maude Lunsford Chambless will be held today at 1 p.m. at Hennigan Cemetery in Epes with the Rev. Mamie Lunsford officiating. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Chambless, 67, of Epes, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at Hill Hospital.
    Survivors include a son, John I. Chambless of Epes; a daughter, Mary Chambless of Demopolis and three grandchildren.
    SARA J. ALLEN
    Retired teacher
    Graveside services for Sara J. Allen will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery with Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Allen, 94, of Memphis, Tenn., died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, in her home.
    Survivors include a son, Charles W. Allen of Memphis.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, E.G. Allen.
    HOWARD LEE BOATNER
    Retired sawmill operator, mechanic
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Howard Lee Boatner will be held today at 3 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Dearman officiating. Burial will be in Plattsburg Cemetery in Noxapater.
    Mr. Boatner, 82, of Philadelphia, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include his wife, Ruby Boatner and a daughter, Bertha Lloyd, both of Philadelphia; two sons, Martin Boatner of Louisville and Don Boatner of Philadelphia; a brother, Victor Boatner of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
    WILLIAM LOWRY HUGHES
    Electrician with Avery Dennison
    Services for William Lowry Hughes will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Mr. Hughes, 44, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, in his home. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
    Survivors include a son, Clint Hughes of Meridian; two sisters, Lucille Boyd of Scooba and Doris Wigington of Meridian; two brother, Terry Callahan of Meridian and Grady Callahan of San Marcos, Calif.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Glen Hughes.
    Pallbearers will be Danny Cook, Charles Leager, Derwin Harris, Jeff Martin, Scotty Ray Boyd, David Boyd, Ricky Stevens and Larry Edmonds.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    STEVEN CAMPBELL HULL
    EMCC men's basketball coach
    Services for Steven Campbell Hull will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Chunky United Methodist Church with the Rev. Aubrey Howard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Hull, 39, of Scooba, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, in Philadelphia.
    Mr. Hull was beginning his sixth season as head coach at East Mississippi Community College and entering his 17th season involved in athletics. He received his bachelor's degree from Millsaps College in 1983, where he played for four years.
    After coaching at D'Iberville and New Hope, he served a year in Florida as a baseball umpire. He then returned to Delta State University as an assistant basketball coach.
    He became head basketball coach at West Lauderdale High School in 1987, leading the Knights to four consecutive 20-win seasons and two consecutive state runners-up titles.
    Survivors include his wife, Lisa Hull, a son, Trexler Heeth Hull and a daughter, Baleigh Alyssa Hull, all of Scooba; his parents, Olen and Nita Hull of Chunky; two brothers, Leslie Hull and his wife, Robin, and Ryan Hull and his wife, Dawn, all of Meridian; his father and mother-in-law, Bud and Elizabeth Cox of Rienzi; a nephew, Brooks Hull; and nieces, Kara, Kaley, Kristen and Jordyn Hull.
    The family requests memorials be made to East Mississippi Community College.
    Pallbearers will be David Mullins, Clay Armstrong, Tommy Moore, Lindsey Hall, Steve Austin, Tommy Henngen, Richard Mathis, Bubba Skelton and Gary Harris.
    Honorary pallbearers will be members of the EMCC Basketball Team, Billy Harold Smith and Gary Mayatt.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service.
    MARY MAGDALENE COX ALLDAY
    GILBERTOWN, Ala. Services for Mary Magdalene Cox Allday will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Gilbertown Assembly of God with the Revs. Marshall Adcock and Steven Ray Perry officiating. Burial will be in Paragon Cemetery with Phillips Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Allday, 77, of Gilbertown, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at Springhill Memorial Hospital in Mobile.
    Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Allday and his wife, Robin, of Butler, Robert Allday and his wife, Sue, of Chatom and Joey Allday of Gilbertown; two daughters, Judy Happeny and her husband, Ernie, of Chickasaw and Jeana Kovach of Chickasaw; a brother, Buddy Cox and his wife, Annie Ruth, of Quitman; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Willie Allday.
    Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the church.
    HENRY CLAYTON WARREN
    Retired diesel mechanic
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Henry Clayton "Curly" Warren will e held Thursday at 3 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Kim Poe and Tony Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Sandtown Cemetery.
    Mr. Warren, 64, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, in his home. He was a retired diesel mechanic with Marshall Durbin.
    Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Fortenberry, five brothers, Willie E. Warren, Charles Warren, Robert Warren, Ray Warren and Lamar Warren, all of Philadelphia; five sisters, Dorothy Kirkland and Annie Dee Spears, both of Philadelphia, Betty Kelly of Noxapater, Dianne Odom of Ovett and Louise Adams of Louisiana; and one grandson.
    Visitation will be today beginning at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton for Otis Rhodes, 85, of Newton, who died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, in his home.
