OBITUARIES FOR WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 5, 2001

JOE S. MARLER
Retired from Valley Farms
MACON Services for Joe S. Marler will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Greg Bufkin and Jerry Zgarba officiating. Burial will be in Brooksville Cemetery.
Mr. Marler, 78, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Mary N. Marler of Brooksville; a daughter, Linda Horn of Kissimmee, Fla.; three sisters, Elma Lindsley of Foley, Ala., Ruth Smith of Southhaven and Deanie Green of Jacksonville, Fla.; and 13 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Garner and Margaret Shepard Marler; and his stepmother, Thelma Grogan Marler.
The family requests memorials be made to Brooksville United Methodist Building Fund, c/o Barbara Moore, Brooksville, MS.
Visitation will be Thursday one hour prior to the service.

SEBASTOPOL Services for Ava Lou Mingo will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Pearl River Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Isaac officiating. Burial will be in Isaac Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Mingo, 49, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include her husband, C.J. Mingo, five sons, Michael Isaac, Marcus Isaac, Jerimia Mingo, Jason Mingo and Samuel Mingo, a daughter, Wynona Mingo, all of Philadelphia; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edmund Isaac and a sister, Teresa Jones.
Visitation will be today after 9:30 a.m. at the family home.

Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Alice "Dolly" Birdsong, 93, of Meridian, who died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at Azalea Meadows Personal Care Facility.

Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for D.D. Wilkinson, 85, of Meridian, who died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001.
DR. REUBEN L. JOHNSON
Arrangements were incomplete at Stephens Funeral Home for Dr. Reuben L. Johnson, 95, who died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, in Madison, Tenn.
