Gilbert Sykes IV and Shannon Brown of Newton announce the birth of a son, Christian Kendall Sykes, on Aug. 9, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Paternal grandparents are Gilbert and Gladys Sukes of Shreveport, La.
Maternal grandparents are Cedric and Lorraine Miles of Forest.
