OBITUARIES FOR FRIDAY, AUG. 10, 2001

ALVIN A. JOHNSON
QUITMAN Graveside services for Alvin A. Johnson will be held today at 10 a.m. at Archusha Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Dennis Coats officiating. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Johnson, 60, of Quitman, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his mother, Myrtle C. Johnson of Quitman; four brothers, James Johnson and Dan Johnson, both of Quitman, Frank Johnson of Houston and Robert Johnson of Brookhaven; and two sisters, Ruth Jones of Longview, Texas, and Myrtle Barras of Orange, Texas.
GEORGE WILLIAM CHANDLER

QUITMAN Services for George William Chandler will be held today at 2 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Browning officiating. Burial will be in Enterprise Cemetery.
Mr. Chandler, 28, of Quitman, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Danyell Chandler, a son, George William Chandler Jr., and a daughter, Aimee Danyell Chandler, all of Stateline; his father, Wilmar M. Chandler of Enterprise; his mother, Elizabeth Elmore of Laurel; three brothers, Jimmy Chandler of Seattle, Jacob Treharn and Alex Treharn, both of Youngstown, Ohio; and six sisters, Selena Williams and Cathy English, both of Laurel, Sandy Ferguson and Felicia Chandler, both of Enterprise, Jennifer Brown of Stateline and Melissa Andrews of Citronelle, Ala.

SEBASTOPOL Services for Allie Cooke will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Hamm officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cooke, 66, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Choctaw Health Center.
Survivors include four sons, Darrell Gardner, Reginald Gardner and Faron Gardner, all of Philadelphia, and Diwane Gardner of Las Cruces, N.M.; three daughters, Cynatta Gardner, Tanya Tullos and Shannon Cooke, all of Philadelphia; two sisters, Mallie Chickaway and Nancy Willis, both of Philadelphia; a brother, Studie Chickaway of Philadelphia; her parents, Sim and Maggie Chickaway, seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
GREGORY ALAN HERRIN

Graveside services for Gregory Alan Herrin will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Phalti Baptist Church Cemetery in Pachuta, with the Revs. Allen Dearing and Douglas Watson officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Herrin, 35, of Marion, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and was a member of Marion Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Herrin, and a son, Zacharey, both of Marion; his mother, Pat Herrin of Pachuta; his father, Walt Herrin of Chula Vista, Calif.; a brother, Jason Scott Herrin, and his wife, Tiffany, of Pachuta; four nieces, Amber Herrin, Krysta Herrin and Haleigh Herrin, all of Pachuta, and Heather Linton of Meridian; a nephew, Daniel Linton of Meridian; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Robert and Glenda Linton, both of Meridian; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Bessie Richardson, both of Meridian; his grandmother, Christine Combest Smith of Pachuta; his grandfather, Kelly Smith of Pachuta, a special cousin and aunt, Kristy Hart and Billie "Bi" Hart, and several other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, W.H. Combest, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Herrin.
Pallbearers will be members of the military.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
