    OBITUARIES FOR MONDAY, AUG. 6, 2001

    Retired from the Air National Guard
    Services for Philip "Nick" Nicholson will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home chapel, with the Revs. Hal Bates, James M. Snowden and David Sellers officiating. Burial will be in Collinsville Baptist Church Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Nicholson, 83, of Collinsville, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice. He was retired from the Air National Guard.
    Survivors include two sons, Robert D. Allen of Sandestin, Fla., and Billy Allen, and his wife, Vistan, of Collinsville; two sisters, Jackie Riley of Ft. Hood, Texas, and Pat Looper of Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren, Lenee Ezell, and her husband, Bruce, Richie Allen, Phillip Allen, and his wife, Jane, and Gina Allen, and her husband, Charles Lundy; five great-grandchildren, Drew Allen, Josh Allen, Sarah Allen, Chisolm Allenlundy and Ziggy Allenlundy; two nephews, Richard Roots, and his wife, Jo, and Russell Roots, and his wife, Celia; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Earle Nicholson.
    Pallbearers will be A.J. Wedgeworth, Jim Watson, Jim Miller, Gary Gibson, Dewayne Joyner and Mike Spears. Honorary pallbearers will be T.S. Pigford and Vaudrey Gressett.
    Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Stephens Funeral Home.
    FRANK TANK
    Owner, Frank Tank Discount Store
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Frank Tank will be held today, August 6, 2001, at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Chapel, with the Revs. Kevin Brouillette and Kim Poe officiating. Burial will be in Sandtown Cemetery in Neshoba County, with McClain-Hays Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Tank, 80, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, August 4, 2001, at Neshoba General Hospital. He was born in Almont, Mich., and moved to Mississippi in 1947. He was the owner/operator of Frank Tank Discount Store in Philadelphia and DeKalb.
    Survivors include his wife, Norma Tank; his son, Jerome Tank, and his wife, Linda; and his former son-in-law, Bill Englett, and his wife, Joann, all of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren, Tanya Kilpatrick, Stacey Tank and Tyrome Tank all of Philadelphia, Jermie Tank of Monroe, Ga., Becky Nester of Meridian; Rhynie Johnson and Dewayne Englett, both of Selma, Ala., Amanda Englett of Panama City, Fla.; and Julian Englett of Florence, Ala.; a sister, Darena Gaylock of Lapeer, Mich.; a brother, Herman Tank of Kentucky; and 11 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Englett.
    Pallbearers will be Tyrome Tank, Jermie Tank, Dewayne Englett, Julian Englett, Robert Kilpatrick, Randy Ward, Rhynie Johnson and David Brown.
    ROBERT F. DAVIS
    Retired from Mississippi Power Co.
    Graveside services for Robert F. Davis will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2001, at 10 p.m. in Magnolia Cemetery, with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Davis, 88, of Scooba, died Sunday, August 5, 2001, in his home. He was a former resident of Meridian and was a captain in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a member of the exchange club and the Boy Scouts. He retired from Mississippi Power Company.
    Survivors include a sister, Sarah Helen Davis of Meridian, and a host of nieces and nephews.
    Visitation will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home.
    GWENDOLYN "GWEN" WELLS CLEARMAN
    Homemaker
    Services for Gwendolyn "Gwen" Wells Clearman will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2001, at 10 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Jessie Long officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Cemetery in Wayne County, with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Clearman, 69, of Meridian, died Saturday, August 4, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was a homemaker and member of the Methodist faith.
    Survivors include three sisters, Jeanette Clearman and Margaret Bishop, both of Meridian; and Miriam Bradley of Whitefield; two brothers, Rufus Wells of Buckatunna and Ohlen Wells of Millry, Ala.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter A. and Lottie Shephard Wells; her husband, Deab L. Clearman; and two brothers, Woodrow Wells and W.D. Wells.
    Pallbearers will be Jack Coker, Jack Boyette, Phillip Butler, Raymond Brewister, Jerry Smith, James Wilson and Richard McDonald.
    Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home.
