Garvin, Pogue

Jamie Lynn Pogue and Chad Lucas Garvin were united in marriage Friday, April 6, 2001, at Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church in Collinsville. Dr. Marcus Finch officiated the double-ring ceremony with the Rev. Toby Lofton assisting.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Pogue of Collinsville and Mr. and Mrs. James Garvin of Newton.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Pogue of the Springhill Community and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thad Oden of Bailey.
The bridegroom is the grandson of Mrytie Bell Garvin of Newton and the late O.C. Garvin Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie George Ezelle of Decatur.
Music was provided by Jay Parker.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length white satin gown. The bodice of the dress was of a seed pearl design. She carried a bouquet of dogwood and wild flowers.
Attending the couple were Amy Billups Gewin of Meridian as matron of honor and J. Paul Everett of Newton as best man.
A reception was held in the fellowship hall following the ceremony. Assisting with the reception were Shirley Benson, Faye Bruner, Janet Kinard, Donna Foreman, Rachel Milling, Donna Wellman and Christina Benson.
The couple resides in Newton.
