    OBITUARIES FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 21, 2001

    Retired postman
    Graveside for Robert W. McBryde will be held today at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Revs. Sam Hull and Bob Matheny officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. McBryde, 84, of Meridian, died Friday, April 20, 2001, at Riley Hospital. He was a member of East End Methodist Church.
    Survivors include two sisters, Lucile McQuade of Meridian and Ann Gentry of Mobile, Ala; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, James Alex McBryde and Estell Ford McBryde; two brothers, Paul and James McBryde.
    WALTER J. THOMAS
    Former truck driver for Dowdle Gas Company
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Walter J. "Coot" Thomas will be held today at 2 p.m. at Christian Life Apostolic Church in DeKalb with the Revs. Benny Alford and Dennis Duvall officiating. Burial will be in Tucker Cemetery in Kemper County with McClain-Hays Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Thomas, 57, of DeKalb, died Thursday, April 19, 2001, in his home.
    Survivors include two daughters, Linda Gail Warren of Philadelphia and Lisa Carol Pitts of DeKalb; five grandchildren; and a special friend, Patricia Burton of Philadelphia.
    FRANKLIN EDWARDS
    UNION Services for Franklin "Frankie" Edwards will be held today at 3 p.m. at Poplar Baptist Church in Conehatta with the Rev. Curtis Price officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Edwards, 77, of Conehatta, died Thursday, April 19, 2001, in Philadelphia.
    Survivors include his wife, Frances Edwards of Conehatta; two daughters, Hilda McGee of Hattiesburg and Arlene Mayes of Baton Rouge, La.; two sons, Tom Edwards of Conehatta and Kevin Edwards of Carthage; a sister, Grace Gilmer of Wrangle, Alaska; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    GEORGE EUGENE LINGLE
    Retired butcher
    FOREST Services for George Eugene Lingle will be held today at 3 p.m. at Ott and Lee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Independence Methodist Cemetery
    Mr. Lingle, 62, of Bailey, died Thursday, April 19, 2001, in his home.
    He was a resident of Bailey for the past 18 years, moving from Meridian where he lived for 10 years. He was a former resident of Lawrence. Mr. Lingle was a member of Poplar Springs Drive Methodist Church in Meridian, a Mason and member of Longstreet Lodge No. 268 in Bailey. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt.
    Survivors include his wife, Thelma Hunt Lingle of Bailey; three daughters, Annette Evans and her husband, Larry, of Warner Robbins, Ga., Angie Dear and her husband, Kevin, of Florence and De Kay Shepperd of Bailey; two sons, Damon Collins of Meridian and the Rev. Kerry Collins and his wife, Jannis, of Bradley; five grandchildren, Ashley Evans, Casey Dear, Dusty Dear, Danielle Collins and Morgan Shepperd.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn "Bud" Lingle and Effie Cockrell Lingle.
    The family requests memorials be made to a church of choice, Gideon's International or the American Cancer Society.
    Visitation will be today from 1-2:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
    ALFRED W. FRAZIER
    Retired farmer and WWII veteran
    Services for Alfred W. Frazier will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Frazier Grove Church of God with the Rev. Ennis Hyman and Joel Everett officiating. Burial will be in Frazier Grove Cemetery in Kemper County with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Frazier, 89, of Bailey, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was retired farmer, a disabled veteran from World War II and a member of Frazier Grove Church of God.
    Survivors include his wife, Ola Mae Frazier of Bailey; four sons, Randall W. and Cindy Frazier of Brunswick, Maine, Harold E. and Brenda Frazier of Bailey, Larry W. and Daisy Frazier of Collinsville and Arnold R. and Mercie Frazier of Milford, N.J.; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Joanna, Eric, Angie, Richard Fergerson Jr., Tosha, Brock, April, Kevin, Jason and Tony; a great grandson, Austin James Frazier; five sisters, Pauline Espey, Dora Dee Penney, Della Joiner and Emma Ree Anderson all of Bailey and Peggy McKee of Savannah, Ga.; and five brothers, Stanley, Fred, Othell and Lavelle Frazier, all of Bailey and Hubert Frazier of Collinsville.
    Pallbearers will be Eric Frazier, Shayne Loved, Brock Frazier, Kevin Frazier, Richard Ferguson and Stanley Frazier Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Frazier, Tony Frazier, Rich Adinolfi, Dennis Layne and Austin Frazier.
    Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Sunday 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
    HAROLD HILEMAN HEBER
    Retired operator of Sonat Gas
    ENTERPRISE Services for Harold "Harry" Hileman Heber will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Enterprise Baptist Church with the Revs. Richard Cothern and Taylor Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Stonewall Cemetery with Wright's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Heber, 81, of Enterprise, died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at Riley Hospital. He was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Buckalew Heber of Enterprise; a daughter, Susan Chancelor and her husband, Darrell of Stonewall; a brother, Robert W. Heber and his wife, Gene, of Harrison, Mich.; two sisters, Bernice Smith of LeRoy, Mich. and Eleanor Tracy of Lansing, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Pauline Buckalew Rathbun of Enterprise; three grandchildren, Kim Chancelor of Hattiesburg and Jon Chancelor and Blake Chancelor of Stonewall; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl J. and Mary Heber; a brother, Wallace Heber; and a sister Mable Squires.
    Pallbearers will be Jimmie Helms, Martin Long, Cecil Melton, Larry Owen, Charles Helms, Gerald Covington, Buddy Dearman and Mark Smith.
    Honorary pallbearers will be John Lawson, Joe Crumbley, Delmar Smith Jr., Peyton Kidd, T.R. Chisolm, Collins Goodin, Dick Clay, Lewis Smith and co-workers at Southern Natural Gas.
    Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
