OBITUARIES FOR FRIDAY, APRIL 14, 2001

NASHVILLE, Ga. Services for Elsie Marjorie "Margie" Hooks were held Friday at United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. William Wood officiating. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hooks, 82, a native of Lauderdale County, Miss., died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at Berrien County Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, James Hooks of Nashville; two daughters, Jeanette Hall of Tifton and Syble Roland of Nashville; a son, Billy Wayne Beeman and a brother, Monroe Williamson, both of Nashville; 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William T. Beeman and a daughter, Marie Nelson.
GEORGE GAINES ALLEN

BUTLER, Ala. Services for George Gaines Allen will be held today at 2 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Russell Wray and Franklin McLelland officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery in Yantley.
Mr. Allen, 80, of Lisman, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Mobile Infirmary. He was a veteran of World War II, served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Mary G. Allen of Lisman; two sons, Donald Allen of Scyrene and Gaines Allen of Satsuma; a daughter, Mary Edna Allen of Nashville, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.
AMNER GILMER BONNER

PINE MILL, Ala. Services for Amner Gilmer Bonner will be held today at 11 a.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel in Pine Mill with the Rev. Rodney Mullins and Jimmy Edmunds officiating. Burial will be in Advent Cemetery in Silas.
Mrs. Bonner, 91, of Silas, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeanelle Gibson and Barbara Parrish, both of Gilbertown; two sons, Paul Bonner of Silas and Ferrell Bonner of Gilbertown; two brothers, Gilmer "Bebee" Gilbert of Branson, Mo. and Lee Gilbert of Wichita Falls, Texas; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
GRACIE BARNETT
Graveside services for Gracie Barnett will be held today at 3 p.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Curtis Dyer officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Barnett, 74, of Collinsville, died Friday, April 13, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra White and Shirley May both of Meridian, three sons, James Barnett, Larry Barnett and Billy Barnett, all of Meridian; four sisters, Martha Jewell Robinson, Evelyn Passion, Margaret Reynolds and May Pickman; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chad Barnett, Brian May, David White, Shaun Galyean, Max Culpepper and Fliff Barker.
Visitation will be today from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
ROBERT ANDERSON

YORK, Ala. Services for Robert "Bob" Anderson will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lisa Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Livingston Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Anderson, 73, of Livingston, died Friday, April 13, 2001, at Sumter Health and Rehab in York.
Survivors include a son, Terry Wayne Anderson of Arlington, Ohio and a brother, Howard Anderson of Findlay, Ohio.
Visitation will be Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
VERNAL E. BUFFINGTON

Services for Vernal E. Buffington will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Duffee Church of Christ with the Rev. Daniel Whitworth officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Buffington, 87, of Little Rock, died Friday, April 13, 2001, in his home. He was a veteran of World War II and member of Duffee Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Willie Etoy Buffington of Little Rock; a son, Mike Buffington and his wife, Kathy, of Collinsville; three daughters, Gail Saxon and her husband, Randall, of Collinsville, Sue Beadles and her husband, Neal, of Meridian, and Darlene Davis and her husband, Roger, of Decatur; six grandchildren, Steven Saxon and his wife, Becki, Lee Saxon, Lee Buffington and his wife, Mandy, Ken Buffington and his wife, Chrissie, Adella Key and her husband, Jerry, and Allen Davis; two great-grandchildren, Lizzy Beth Saxon and Jeremy Key; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Roland Buffington, Raymond Buffington, Glen Buffington, Lee Buffington, Ken Buffington and Steven Saxon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Davis, Lee Saxon, Dave Davis, Steve Freeman, Keith Freeman, Jerry Key, Dale Alexander and Calvin Alexander.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
