OBITUARIES FOR SUNDAY, JAN. 28, 2001

AUDIE CLEVELAND BRITTON WICKS

JACKSON Graveside services for Audie Cleveland Britton Wicks will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park with Lakewood Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wicks, 85, of Jackson, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at Central Mississippi Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur D. Wicks of Jackson; two stepdaughters, Deborah Kay Anderson of Clinton and Constance Renee Rice of Thomasville, Ala.; a brother, Cobert Cleveland of Decatur; three sisters, Darah Cooksey of Newton, Gwen Thrash and Imogene Addy, both of Decatur; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The families requests memorials be made to The Salvation Army or a local charity.
Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
ETHELYN W. STOKES
Homemaker
Graveside services for Ethelyn W. Stokes will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Vern Rodgers officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Stokes, 91, of Meridian, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at Queen City Nursing Home. She was a member of Northview Assembly of God.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherrill Barnett and Mary Ann Stokes, both of Meridian; a son, Raymond Stokes of Meridian; and four grandchildren, Whitney Zachry Tucker, Casey Zachry and Raymond Douglas Stokes, all of Meridian, and Helen Mary Bass of Jackson; and one great-grandchild, Ian Douglas Stokes, of Meridian.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Herman Stokes, and a son, Marcus Lavon Stokes.
Visitation will be today from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
ELLERY HOUSTON BALLARD
QUITMAN Services for Ellery Houston Ballard will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Tony Meinhardt and Horace Vincent officiating. Burial will be in Enterprise Cemetery.
Mr. Ballard, 73, of Quitman, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at his home. He was an Army veteran and a native of Stonewall.
Survivors include two daughters, Amy Joyce Barry of Brandon, and Lola Beth Dorman, of Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother, Teddy Ballard of Quitman; two sisters, Frances Baker of Enterprise and Charlotte Parker of Mobile, Ala.; three grandchildren; and a special friend, June Goldman of Stonewall.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vena Joyce Ballard.
Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
ANGIE AULINE EVANS
QUITMAN Services for Angie Auline Evans will be held today at 1 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jim Smith officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
Mrs. Evans, 95, of Quitman, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at H.C. Watkins Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Earl Evans of Quitman and John H. Evans of Roswell, N.M.; two daughters, Carol Evans of Quitman and Dorothy Nobles of Hattiesburg; a sister, Mabel Garrett of Quitman; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to the DeSoto Baptist Church Building Fund.
Visitation will be today from noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
