Services for George Harmon Thompson will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Primitive Baptist Church in Lauderdale, with the Rev. Johnny McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church Cemetery in Porterville with Clark's Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thompson, 83, of Lauderdale, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at Riley Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Ruthie Mae Thompson of Lauderdale; four sons, Willie James Thompson and his wife, Estelle, James Charles Thompson and his wife, Mary, and Robert Henry Thompson and his wife, Catherine, all of Lauderdale, and James Frank Thompson of Ellisville; three daughters, Sally Jean Mobley and her husband, Jimmie, Annie Hopson and her husband, Johnny, all of Lauderdale, and Pearlie Simpson of Benseville, Ill.; a sister, Betty Knapper of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Charlie Thompson of Meridian; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Graveside services for James Curtis Kennedy were to be held today at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Revs. Dennis Kennedy and Gene Pickern officiating. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Kennedy, 89, of Quitman, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
MARY GRANCES DAVIS PAYNE

Services for Mary Frances Davis Payne will be held today at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Richie Davis and Randy Scarbrough officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Kemper County.
Mrs. Payne, 76, of Meridian, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, in her home. She was a longtime resident of Kemper County and a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include four children, Quida Boswell and her husband, Robert, of the Liberty Community, Sue Trawick and her husband, Terry, John P. Davis Jr. and his wife, Sue, and Jennie Symonds and her husband, Bobby, all of Meridian; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, John P. Davis Sr. and Frank L. Payne.
Pallbearers will be Ben Mattox, Benny Mattox, Don Mattox, Jeff Mattox, Marion Payne and Glenn Payne.
