Courthouse could get new scanner

RUSSELLVILLE — Probate Judge Barry Moore said the county is considering the purchase of a courthouse walk-through security scanner from One Point Security for $5,642.

Commissioners also looked at a scanner costing approximately $6,700 but decided against purchasing it because payment was required in advance.

Because the One Point Security scanner falls below the bid-law threshold, Moore said the purchase does not require commission action. He estimated delivery would take four to six weeks.

In other action last week, commissioners: Under the Franklin County Soil and Water contract, Moore said, the county pays an employee through its payroll, and the board reimburses the county for the full amount. He said the district attorney’s worthless check agreement allows the county to maintain the program’s financial records. The pretrial diversion agreement covers another account the county manages, he said.
