Obviously, I hope Auburn wins. It will be tough. The reason Auburn was the number one overall seed was because they played (and dominated) the toughest schedule in the country.

The Tigers have already played the other three teams in the Final Four. Unfortunately, they are 1-2, beating Houston and losing to Florida at Auburn and Duke in Cameron Indoor in Raleigh, North Carolina. They can do it, but it will be tough …

Has NIL killed the mid-major? This is the first time in several years there was no Cinderella team, and all the top seeds made it to the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight. NIL and the transfer portal have had side effects that probably are still unrealized …

In December 2012, the movie version of the hit Broadway show “Les Misérables” came out starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway.

I went to see it on a recommendation and thought I would hate it. In fact, I was ready to get up and walk out about 30 minutes into it, but my wife said we would stick it out. I ended up loving it. It was the first time I’ve ever felt like applauding during a movie and giving a standing ovation.

When it came out on DVD, my daughter and I watched it together, and she loved it. She was around five or six. I told my wife if it ever comes to Broadway again, we will go to New York to see our first Broadway show. It did. We did. And it sparked a love affair with Broadway and New York City.

We’ve seen around 25 shows since. Thursday night, my daughter and I traveled to Birmingham to see it again and it was just as good. She remembers the music but not much of the story. Now, she wants to rewatch. All it takes is a spark …

If you haven’t seen it, “Les Mis,” to me, is a story about mercy and redemption and true Christian love set during the French Revolution. It follows the story of Jean Valjean who spent years in prison for stealing bread to eat. He is given shelter and a second chance by a priest and breaks his parole to start a new life.

Valjean is hunted through the years by a police officer name Javert. Valjean promised to raise the daughter of one of his former employees, Fantine, when she died. Her daughter’s name is Cosette (the one you see in all the promo pictures). It’s in Huntsville in late May. Go see it. I promise, you will love it …

Let’s see, what happened in Trump World this week? His defense secretary, vice president and other national security officials accidentally, or purposefully, added a leftwing reporter to a group chat about an attack on Houthis.

Finally, the media and Democrats could work themselves into a blather about something. Nonstory. Move along … Locally, a sad story involving teenagers. All I will say about this story is that it was such an avoidable tragedy. So sad for all of the families involved …
