Tharptown’s Miss Wildcat pageant is Feb. 8

RUSSELVILLE – Jesse Warhurst believes competing in Tharptown High School’s Miss Wildcat pageant changed her life in a positive way.

Warhurst said being selected Miss Wildcat 2023 helped her gain confidence and stage presence and opened up “endless opportunities” on and off the stage.

“I got the chance to emcee the Miss Wildcat 2024 pageant during the year following my crowning,” Warhurst said. “This helped me get more comfortable speaking in front of a crowd.

“I would encourage any girl wanting to compete to go for it! There is so much more to pageants than just putting on a pretty dress. The pageant industry has truly changed my life.”

Warhurst went on to compete in the Miss Teen USA pageant.

“Miss Teen USA has pushed me to be the best version of myself,” she said, “whether that was meeting with mentors every weekend to prepare for the interview and evening gown portion or waking up at 5 a.m. to work out before school to prepare for the fitness portion.

“I can’t wait to be back on the Miss Alabama Teen USA stage this summer representing Franklin County,” she said.

Fellow pageant participant Kaden Woodard agreed with Warhurst – the experience can be both memorable and meaningful.

“Pageants are what you make of them, and they have always been a hobby I have loved doing,” said Woodard, Miss Wildcat 2024. “You can build longlasting friendships, selfesteem, and even open opportunities for your future.”

“I am so excited to get to be a part of this pageant again and to pass my crown down to the next Miss Wildcat,” Woodard said. “I would encourage any girl thinking about competing to take that leap and go for it. “

The Miss Wildcat pageant, sponsored by the baseball program, will be held Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. in the school gym.

The event is open to any Tharptown student in kindergarten through 12th grade who wants to participate.

Participants will be scored for Best Poise, Prettiest Dress, Best Hair, Prettiest Smile, Most Photogenic, Third Alternate, Second Alternate, First Alternate, and one overall Queen for each age group.
