Football look ahead includes rivalry week

Russellville (5-2) at West Point- (2-5) Russellville is coming off a blowout win over Class 4A Hatton last week to play the last of two region games beginning with West Point. West Point’s only two wins have come back-to-back after five straight losses. They beat Priceville last week and East Limestone the week before.

Vina (5-2) at Addison (4-4) – Vina got back on the winning track last week beating Waterloo 16-14. The Red Devils are 3-2 in region play. Vina will play the Addison Bulldogs this week. The Bulldogs are 3-2 in region play losing to Meek last week, 30-22, and beating Waterloo the week before, 51-6.

Phil Campbell (2-5) at Gordo (7-1) – Phil Campbell got a muchneeded Homecoming win last week beating Carbon Hill 34-12. The Bobcats have a big challenge on the road this week, traveling to Gordo. The Green Wave are almost perfect this year. They have won their last four straight by a combined score of 17959.

Tharptown (0-7) hosts Winston County (7-0) The Tharptown Wildcats have yet to win a game, and this week they face the undefeated Winston County Yellow Jackets. Winston County has won seven-straight by a combined score of 290-39.

Red Bay (1-6) hosts Decatur Heritage (5-1) Red Bay has never played the private school from Decatur. The Tigers picked up their first win last week, beating Tharptown 52-0. Decatur Heritage has won four-straight by a combined score of 188-31.

Belgreen (2-3) has a long break in the schedule. The Bulldogs will return to play Oct. 25 on the road at Victory Christian.
