Belgreen, Red Bay softball season ends at regionals

The Belgreen Bulldogs and Red Bay Tigers softball seasons came to an end in the North Regionals at Florence last week.

Belgreen opened tournament play beating Meek 12-0 in the Class 1A North Regional. Waterloo sent the Bulldogs to the elimination bracket, where the Bulldogs lost 7-3.

In the elimination bracket, Belgreen picked up a 7-5 win over Athens Bible to stay alive, but was eliminated by Cherokee, 5-3, later in the day.

Red Bay lost their opening game in the Class 2A North Regional to Lindsay Lane 3-2, sending the Tigers to the elimination bracket.

The Tigers picked up a win in the elimination bracket against Locust Fork 5-2 later in the day. Red Bay was eliminated in the opening game of day two by Falkville 5-3.
