Franklin County Schools softball highlights

Red Bay 15, Phil Campbell 5

Red Bay ran away from Phil Campbell in an early season matchup of the two rivals. Red Bay outhit the Bobcats 12-3, and Phil Campbell committed eight errors.

Makenna Young hit a home run and had five RBI. Jazmyn Pearson had two doubles, three RBI and scored twice. Mikayela Jackson had a double, two RBI and scored twice. Hannah Butler had two hits, two RBI and scored twice. Butler was the winning pitcher, allowing no earned runs, and struck out three.

Red Bay 10, Sheffield 0

Red Bay shut out Sheffield 10-0. Gracie Edgmon hit a home run. Kyla Blackburn and McKayla Young both had doubles. Lexi Howard had two hits and two RBI. Hannah Bultler was the winning pitcher, getting the shutout and striking out nine.

Phil Campbell 7, Sheffield 6

Phil Campbell jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one inning.  Sheffield went on a run, taking a 6-3 lead after three innings. The Bobcats tied the game in the fourth inning, scoring three runs. Phil Campbell got the walkoff win on a Brittney Coffman single, scoring Kadence Taylor.

Mia Ambrosio had two hits and scored twice. Sidda Rogers had a triple, two RBI and scored twice. Coffman had two hits, a RBI and scored a run. Macey Welborn had a hit, RBI and scored a run.

Addie James got the win in the circle.

Phil Campbell 7, Phllips 2

Addie James pitched a one-hitter to lead Phil Campbell to a 7-2 win over Phillips. James allowed no earned runs and struck out four.

Kadence Taylor had a hit, two RBI and scored a run. Macey Welborn had a hit, RBI and scored a run. Sidda Rogers had a hit and scored twice.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS
Belgreen: Lily Blackburn had two hits and was the winning pitcher in 1-0 win over Decatur Heritage; Blackburn had two doubles in a 7-7 tie against Addison. Hanna Borden had three RBI. Brooke Tompkins and Morgan Vandiver both scored two runs.
