Taking care of business: Elizabeth Joyner starts event planning and stationery biz to embrace personal love of weddings

FRANKLIN LIVING MARCH-APRIL 2024

Elizabeth Joyner explained she has always loved wedding planning – something she has “always done for family and friends” – but it was after planning her own wedding, with help from a couple of like-minded friends, that she discovered just how much she loves figuring out the details and making sure everything goes according to plan.

“I realized how much I enjoyed that aspect,” said Joyner, of Russellville. “I fell in love with the details, the hands-on of actually planning and coordinating weddings.” That’s what led to her starting her business, Elizabeth Joyner Event Planning & Stationery, in August 2023.

The 2016 Phil Campbell High School grad earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of North Alabama, majoring in marketing and professional sales.

She explained she enjoys getting to be part of someone’s special day, finding it rewarding to help them realize their vision while getting to appreciate their unique imagination and goals in bringing it all to fruition. Her role is to simplify what’s required to make that happen and deal with the details so brides don’t have to face those additional stresses.

Another element in particular Joyner finds enjoyable is designing stationery, as it has plenty of details to research and plan to come up with the perfect designs and products. “I can also do the décor setup,” Joyner added. “Each venue is a blank canvas we can use to create whatever we want it to be, and that’s always an exciting prospect.”

She said she enjoys the collaboration with the brides. One way she does that is through creating a vision board on Pinterest to coordinate the plans they are making together.
“I like being able to hold their hand through the experience and let them focus more on the joy of the day instead of worrying about every little thing,” Joyner said. “Instead of communicating with all the individual vendors, all they have to do is communicate with me.”

“Being able to help brides pull off their big day is especially rewarding,” she added. “To get to be part of their joy is very meaningful and incredibly rewarding. I offer services including simply planning, all the way to full on wedding coordination, as well as on the day of the event. I love seeing the uniqueness of each bride and helping them realize their dreams for their big day.”
