Bobcats basketball team scores two wins, has close loss

Leela Baker led the Bobcats in scoring in two wins and a close loss last week.

Baker shared the scoring lead with Macy Hardy in a 67-37 win over Winston County. Baker and Hardy both scored 18 points against the Yellow Jackets.

Phil Campbell raced out to a 22-6 first quarter and led 35-22 at the half.

Sidda Rogers followed Baker and Hardy with 10 points. Hannah Welborn added nine points, Ayla Stowe six points, IsaBell Ashley four points and Mia Ambrosio two points.

Baker and Welborn scored 16 points to lead the Bobcats past Phillips 67-39.

Phil Campbell dominated the first quarter, outscoring the Bears 23-7. The Bobcats extended their lead to 39-13 at halftime.

Hardy followed Baker and Welborn with 13 points. Ashley added eight points, Rogers and Stowe five points and Bella Welch and Natalie Pope two points.

Foul trouble doomed Phil Campbell at Hatton, but the Bobcats still had a chance to win at the end before falling 49-48.

Baker led Phil Campbell with 17 points, scoring eight in the first quarter. Hardy followed with 12 points, hitting a pair of threes late. Welborn also scored 12 points for Phil Campbell. Ambrosio added five points and Rogers two points.
