Tharptown basketball beats Phillips

The Tharptown Wildcats scored a big opening season win with a dominating performance over the Phillips Bears, winning 66-30. 

Tharptown raced out to a 15-8 first quarter lead and extended their lead to 34-17 at halftime. The Wildcats extended their lead to 52-30 in the third quarter and held the Bears scoreless in the fourth quarter to get the win. 

Dylan Valdez led Tharptown with 18 points, followed by Malachi Minor with 13 points and Jackson Clement with 12 points.  

Israel Sanchez added nine points, Dawson Higgins five points, Dalton Maldonado five points and Edwin Vela four points.
