RHS was also dominant on the doubles’ courts. Golden Tigers’ doubles teams with victories were: No. 1 Parrish/Tiffin, 6-2, 6-2; No. 2 Strickland/Palmer, 6-3, 6-0; and No. 3 Speck/Pace, 6-3, 6-4.

Russellville’s boys, led by head coach Ben Phillips, took down Brooks by a 7-2 team total.

Singles winners for the Golden Tigers were Reece Carson, Josue Tomas, David Tomas, Bryan Ruiz and Bralynn Vincent. The doubles teams of Reece Carson/Josue Tomas and Malachi Duncan/Ayden Boyd were also victorious.

March 7 the Deshler Tigers visited Russellville. The Lady Golden Tigers fell to DHS in a close battle, with Russellville singles wins coming from Parrish, Tiffin and Palmer. A doubles win came from Parrish/Tiffin. On the boys’ side, Russellville got a 5-4 win with the help of singles winners Josue Tomas, David Tomas, Ruiz and Vincent. A doubles win came from Duncan/Boyd.

After the Golden Tigers kept their hot streak alive with a win of their own Russellville round-robin boys’ tournament March 11, both the boys and girls got 9-0 victories March 13 versus the Haleyville Lions and Rogers Pirates.

The varsity squads followed that up with two more 9-0 wins over both Central-Florence and Priceville March 14.
