Chamber hosts State of Schools Oct. 13 at BHS

The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce invites the community to attend the fourth annual State of the Schools program, this year scheduled to take place in the Belgreen High School auditorium at 6 p.m. Oct. 13.

The event is free, dress is business casual, and proceedings are set to last approximately an hour.

“This event keeps you ‘in the know’ of our schools, the steps they take and the strides they make to educate our future leaders and workforce,” explained Cassie Medley, director of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce.

“This is an opportunity to hear about the growth of the respective school systems,” Medley added, “including new facilities, plans for the future, enrollment and other information.”

Speakers will include Russellville City Schools Superintendent Dr. Heath Grimes, Franklin County Schools Superintendent Greg Hamilton and Northwest-Shoals Community College President Dr. Jeff Goodwin.

New to this year’s program, each will recognize Outstanding Employee of the Year recipients.
