County seeks responses to broadband survey

The Franklin County Commission is asking residents to complete a short survey about their experience with the coverage and quality of broadband services in the county.

According to the commission, businesses and residents who complete the survey will be providing valuable information about broadband access and needs in all areas of Franklin County.

The survey can be accessed online by clicking HERE.

The information gathered will also be used to cross-check FCC and broadband service provider data to determine where gaps in broadband service exist and how the county can improve its broadband infrastructure.

“First-hand information from our residents is vital to creating an accurate picture of broadband needs in all areas of Franklin County,” explained Franklin County Commission Chairman Barry Moore. “Your participation in this survey will help the Franklin County Commission to identify areas in need of broadband infrastructure and expansion.”

The Franklin County Commission is a member of the Investing in Alabama Counties program established by the Association of County Commissions of Alabama. IAC aids the county in ensuring it uses its American Rescue Plan Act funds appropriately.

The survey is hosted by GIS consultants Sain Associates and is provided as a service through Franklin County’s participation in the IAC program.
