RPL plans modified schedule April 4 through May 9

The Russellville Public Library will be operating on a reduced scheduled for a month this spring.

RPL’s regular hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library will be closed on Mondays, however, from April 4 through May 9.

“We made the decision based on the fact that, as of right now, we are operating with two part-time employees, so it makes it hard to fill the hours needed,” explained interim library director Perla Martinez, who was appointed during the Feb. 21 Russellville City Council meeting. Her appointment follows the resignation of former director Ashley Cummins.

Martinez said she wanted to remind everyone that patrons always have the option of borrowing eBooks by visiting https://camellia.overdrive.com – even when the library is closed.

In other news, the library is continuing to sell fiction hardcover books for $1 each and paperback books for 25 cents each.

RPL is located in downtown Russellville at 110 Lawrence St. E. For information on events and services provided, call 256-332-1535 or email ruslib110@yahoo.com. Information is also available on the library’s Facebook page and on its website.
