Homefolks U.S.A.

Hi folks,

It’s always good to take some quiet time every day and think about what makes you happy. For a lot of people, that’s really hard for them to do.

There is so much bad news, people are frightened, they think the worst – but we all have some happiness in our lives. Let’s try our best to think “happy thoughts.”

Things are going to be better; we just need to be patient.

My friend Austin Tidwell always said laughter is the best medicine ever. Austin has lived a fun life: drove a race car at Talladega, parachuted from an airplane, rode motorcycles, served our country in the military and has had a successful furniture business for a number of years. He has enjoyed good health – until two months ago.

I have called to check on him almost every day. He has been a very sick man, but Friday of last week he called me and said he was a little better.

We laughed, and we talked about days gone by, and his voice was much stronger.

As our conversation closed, he said, “Bobby, remember Ole Tex (his nickname) when you say your prayers tonight.” I assured him I would.

I think he has several more years. He’s only 91.

Please, readers of Homefolks U.S.A., say a prayer for Ole Tex, as well.

This past week Franklin County said goodbye to a great citizen, friend, neighbor and dedicated Christian. He set a great example for his fellow man to follow.

The good Lord blessed him with a very long life, and I am sure he used that life to set a great example for others.

Our condolences go out to his wife, children and every member of his family.

Mr. Ford Pace will certainly be missed by all.

His good work, his influence and his love for all will continue to live on.

Til next time,

Your friend,

Bobby
